Lingua Tokens™ are a play-based articulation system. The difference isn't the approach, it's the execution. They're durable, desirable to engage with, and the games are embedded within the tokens themselves. You don't need flashcards, worksheets, or extra accessories to make them work. They work as is. You can spin them, slide them, flick them, bury them in sand and kids actually want to interact with them. They work for your 4-year-old and your 14-year-old without feeling babyish. Most importantly, they play well with what you probably already own (sensory bins, tweezers, buckets, magnetic tiles, etc.) That's the real difference.

Lingua Tokens™ are designed for SLPs to use with their students. That said, if a caregiver has been coached on the specific sounds their child should be targeting for homework practice, they can absolutely use them. Parents get it quickly because the tokens do the heavy lifting. There's no curriculum to follow or setup required. The parent just needs to know which sounds to target and any cues that their therapist has recommended.

Consonant clusters are complex. They require more motor planning and demand greater precision than singleton sounds. When you target clusters, you're accessing the whole sound system. Treating a complex sound drives system-wide change, meaning your client makes gains that ripple across their entire phonological system. That's the complexity approach. Clusters make up more than half of the collection because that's where the clinical bang for your buck lives.

Clusters come with 12 unique targets in word-initial position, duplicated for a total of 24 tokens. They're built in for repetition right out of the bag. Singletons are more nuanced. The majority of the tokens have more than one target word per token and span from initial, medial, to final positions. You get more targets from fewer tokens. Singleton bags do not come standard with duplicates. If you want duplicates for singletons, you can add a second set to your bag at a discounted price.
