Bean Bag Toss

Have students toss tokens into a bowl, basket, or bean bag toss game. Say the target word before each toss. A muffin tin is especially fun because you can assign different values for each cup.

Water Balloons

Toss tokens in a water table and fish them out. Spray them with a spray bottle (great when working on clusters spr-spray or skw-squirt). Put them in reusable water balloons. Have them open them or splat them to figure out what token was inside.

Putty

Pair them with Play Doh, slime, or my favorite Aaron's Thinking Putty. Use them as pizza toppings, decorations, or inside mini hamburgers.

Squigz

Have the student practice the targets as you lay them out on the table, then use sticky hands or suction cups (like Squigz) to pick them up while naming the ones they have collected.

Air Hockey Table

Get a desired number of accurate trials, then use the token as a puck for a quick game.

Feed ME Robot

A puppet or robot is hungry and the only thing it eats is whatever your target word is. The student has to offer food to the puppet ("Do you want string?"), the puppet responds ("Yes! Feed me!"), and the token gets fed into the puppet's mouth.

Coin Slot Container

Something deeply satisfying about feeding a token into a coin slot. Have students say their target word each time they drop one in. Or have two different containers to keep track of correct vs. redo targets.

Replace the marbles for tokens in this track and try to get the tokens to roll down into the tray.

Trash Truck

Have a trash truck lover? Fill the trash cans with a certain number of tokens, and once they're full with trials, have the trash truck come take them out.

Cash Register

Use tokens as currency for a pretend store. Students have to earn or spend a certain number of tokens to "buy" items, practicing their target word with each transaction.
